The penultimate Sternchaser for 2018. Breezes fair to fickle. Weather fine. We didn't have to get the rescue boat - only just.

.

We had a good mix of boats and experience for our last but one for 2018.

.

Congratulations to Bob Tuohy who came in to take the day by one point with his 10 Rater. I believe that he was grumbling about his handicap early in the day but all came together at the end. Well sailed Bob.

.

John Lykke brought his Marblehead in on silver, just beating out third place by one point.

.

There was a three way cat fight for the bronze. David Draper (Focus newcomer) came out on bottom by virtue of only scoring one first place while the other two scored a pair each. Geoff Smith (Marblehead newcomer) kicked Bob Watson's (Marblehead oldtimer) fingers off of the climb onto the podium by scoring one second place to Bob's none.

.

Well done Geoff Smith. A bit inconsistent, but you got there.

.

Well done Bob Watson. We realise that your sailing style was linguistically cramped by the presence of Bob Dare's young'uns. Tough toenails.

.

Well done David Draper. Fairly consistent results through the day.

.

Brian Pennifold's A Class missed out on the cat fight by two points. Close one Brian.

.

Bob Dare didn't have a real good day. He only just beat Graham Alcock who only sailed in six of the ten races. I tried hard for you Bob, but I couldn't quite get you up there.

.

Graham Alcock - what a man! When David Draper's Focus decided to chuck the towel in, Graham sacrificed his chances by handing off his boat to David. The things you do for the kids, eh?

.

Thanks for an entertaining day, guys.
